In the early 1970's, Bill Aiken joined Harry J. Sweet & Associates.
Together with Dr. Sweet, Bill founded Sweet & Aiken Engineering in 1984.
The company name changed to Aiken Engineering in 1994.
Bill's impeccable reputation has been built by providing quality work with the highest degree of integrity and professionalism.
These values -- professionalism, personal integrity and quality results -- drive our engineering staff and our business today.
Aiken Engineering is a mechanical and structural engineering company that serves clients in the energy, forging, process and manufacturing industries, specializing in critical high reliability applications where the consequence of failure is catastrophic or extremely costly.
Aiken Engineering designs and evaluates specialized equipment and components for critical service applications where the consequence of failure is catastrophic or extremely costly.
Aiken used FEA and other analytical tools to design protective barriers and projectile containment test cells for subsea equipment manufactures.
Aiken developed specialized software for this project.
Aiken designed a large load spreader for an offshore platform; then project managed its fabrication and delivery per client specifications.
Aiken was contracted to determine the cause of fatigue cracks in a 29,000-ton press used to manufacture critical components for jet engines and predict the residual functionality of the damaged components.
Aiken has developed software applications for specific project needs, including applications to address daily, repetitive engineering calculations.
We apply our broad knowledge of fundamental engineering principles using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) with classical engineering mechanics to develop specialized software to provide sound technical recommendations for our clients.
A specialty equipment manufacturer serving the power generation industry asked Aiken to conduct engineering analysis on critical components, provide design assistance, and develop detailed layout and manufacturing drawings for a new piece of equipment.
Aiken has extensive experience and expertise in engineering design and 3-D drafting capabilities.
Our clients call on our expertise to design or evaluate critical components for reasons such as reducing cost, increasing load capacity and extending life span.
The Aiken Engineering EPIC Project Services Program is delivered by a team of professional engineers, designers and industry experts.
Aiken engineers the processes, systems and equipment to the client's objective using applicable codes and industry approved best practices.
We strive to work in harmony with client teams to develop sound solutions appropriate to the company's needs.
