In 1981, Heapy Engineering creates a Special Project's Team to provide Commissioning, Energy Analysis and Master Planning Services. In 1992, Heapy Engineering becomes fully "computerized" and establishes an IT Department to support internal technology needs. Heapy Engineering creates a Technology Services Department to address expanding client needs as many MEP systems become computer based.
In 2001, Heapy Engineering moves to new Headquarters which receives: Governor's Award for Excellence in Energy Efficiency and AIA Design Excellence Award.
