MGE Engineering, Inc. (MGE), founded in 1990, provides civil and structural engineering services for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation of transportation infrastructure, flood control and water resource infrastructure, and other civil works projects. MGE has successfully provided these engineering services to Cities, Counties, Caltrans, transportation and flood control agencies, US Army Corps of Engineers, and the USDA Forest Service.

MGE employs a staff of full-time engineers, technicians, construction managers, and administrative personnel positioned within the firm's offices. MGE is headquartered in Sacramento, California, with branch offices located in Oakland and Los Angeles. MGE takes pride in being a responsive and flexible organization. read more › BART's original system of 34 stations and 72 miles of track was constructed over 30 years ago using then state-of-the-art engineering techniques. As part of a Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) project to extend the existing system 16-miles to the north to connect with the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) System, MGE completed the design of two depressed trench structures. MGE was the prime consultant of a diversified team of architects, engineers and planners that completed the design of three light rail stations on Sacramento Regional Transit's new Southern Corridor.

read more › Under an IDIQ contract with the US Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District, MGE completed the design of improvements in conjunction with the construction of Fuse Gates at the Dam. Improvements included the design of the intake structure and conduit. Under an IDIQ contract with the US Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District, MGE performed an independent technical review (ITR) of the proposed retrofit design for the existing reinforced concrete conduit downstream of the control tower. Under an IDIQ contract with the US Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District, MGE completed the plans, specifications, and cost estimating for channel widening along the right bank of the Napa River.

MGE's engineers have experience in all aspects of highway design, including geometric design, grading, drainage, utility relocation, construction detours, pavement delineation, signage, and erosion control.

read more › MGE Engineering, Inc. (MGE) is the managing partner of a Joint Venture (MGE/V&A JV). This team was recently selected to provide engineering design services to the BOE Street Improvement Program for the design of the Broadway Streetscape Improvement Project. This project consists of designing a roundabout at the offset intersection of Mission Road and Myers Street at Jesse Street. The project site is located midway between the Sixth Street and Seventh Street Viaducts. The San Jose to Merced project section is part of the first phase of the California high-speed rail system that will provide a critical rail link between the Silicon Valley and the Central Valley.

read more › MGE was contracted by SMUD for the planning and design of two customer service parking lots in the vicinity of the S Street campus. Planning, scoping, grant assistance, property acquisition, PS&E and Construction Support Services for the development of recreational facilities including: Downieville Interpretative Center: building with public restroom, river access, public mountain bike repair facility and picnic area. Sacramento County Parks Under an "On-Call" contract with Sacramento County Architectural Services Division, MGE prepared a scoping report and cost estimate for the programming of restroom rehabilitation, reconstruction and replacement of 13 restroom facilities throughout various County Parks and facilities.

read more › MGE assisted the City with Construction Management services for a segment of Wilshire Boulevard from Western Avenue to San Vicente Boulevard. MGE provided construction inspection services for this project to replace approximately 2,100 feet of sanitary sewer line located in the historic district. This project replaced existing facilities but was not intended to increase the system's capacity. Hardin Flat Road is a low-ADT, rural local road that serves the public as well as users of Berkeley Camp.

read more › MGE has assisted our Clients in the planning, programming and management of State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) funds. This has included working with Transportation Commission staff and elected officials to identify potential projects, development of project priority lists, preparation of Project Study Report (PSR) equivalents, coordination with local, state, and federal agencies involved with projects partially or fully funded by the STIP, and preparation of requests for allocations, funding supplements, amendments, and time extensions as needed.

read more › As part of a design build team, MGE provided engineering services for an Aquatic Organism Passage (AOP) Project within the Plumas National Forest. MGE was the prime consultant for the engineering design of the Wilson Creek Crossing located in Trinity County, California, on the Yolla Bolla Ranger District, Shasta Trinity National Forest.
