RIZZO International is a 'client-centric' engineering and earth sciences consulting firm with expertise in specialty civil, geotechnical, and structural analysis and design, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, probabilistic and deterministic seismic hazard analysis, field and office-based geologic and hydrogeologic investigations, testing and inspection, construction management, surety management, and corresponding quality assurance and quality control oversight.

Our team has provided engineering services for technically challenging dams and water resources, infrastructure, and power generation projects throughout the United States and across much of the globe. RIZZO International prepared the design for the stabilization and the rehabilitation of the downstream face of the dam at the Osage Hydroelectric Project owned by Ameren Missouri, a utility company headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.

The downstream face of the dam was remediated and the dam was stabilized to meet required factors of safety against sliding and overturning for all applicable load cases.
Services
Over the course of nearly 35 years, RIZZO has grown from a small, 6-person office to a large corporate headquarters with regional (United States) and international representation.
Our qualified staff of technical and design professionals, most with advanced engineering or geoscience degrees and corresponding professional licenses, collectively work to support projects coordinated from our corporate headquarters, but also service clients and markets specific to our regional representatives and our key collaborators.
RIZZO's structural engineering services primarily include steel and concrete analysis and design for conventional and extreme service conditions; and static, dynamic, time-history, linear, and non-linear analysis of structures.
Our seismic engineering services in turn include seismic load analysis and seismic design, seismic probabilistic risk assessment and fragility analysis, and seismic evaluation and qualification (including seismic walk-downs and seismic margin assessments).
RIZZO also provides forensic and diagnostic structural engineering services.
RIZZO provides deterministic and probabilistic seismic hazard analyses and calculations of corresponding ground motion levels and response spectra for use in building analyses, fragility analyses, and seismic risk quantification for nuclear power plants, dams, and other critical infrastructure.
Our seismologists and geoscientists also provide comprehensive reviews of regional and local geology and tectonics, preparation of earthquake catalogues, analyses of seismicity, and specialized fault displacement studies (including probabilistic fault displacement hazard analyses).
Coupled with our construction support services, RIZZO specializes in construction materials testing and inspection, and construction materials production quality control.
In particular, our testing services include accelerated concrete curing tests, aggregate gradation tests, alkali reactivity tests, compressive strength and tensile strength testing of concrete cylinders, concrete mix design verification, modulus of elasticity testing, moisture content testing, and thermal testing.
Our field-based testing capabilities in turn include compaction control, concrete slump, plate load, pressuremeter, and static and dynamic penetrometer testing.
RIZZO can provide construction support services for a wide range of heavy civil structure and foundation installation projects.
In particular, we provide services that include cost estimating and scheduling; bid and contract document preparation, administration, and control; constructability reviews and value engineering analysis; construction permitting; construction monitoring and inspection; construction quality assurance and control; risk and safety management; surety claims negotiation and management; and completion contracting.
