Ms. Catarella-Michel began working at Urban Systems, Inc. as an Engineer Intern in 2001.
She became a Professional Engineer in 2002, an Associate of the firm in 2003 and a Principal in 2006.
In 2012 the firm reorganized and she became the President.
Ms. Catarella-Michel responsibilities include project management, design, management and training of the firm's technical staff as well as business development and contract negotiations.
Ms. Catarella-Michel has over nineteen years of experience in Traffic Engineering and has expertise in traffic signal designs, traffic impact analysis, traffic control devices plans, intelligent transportation systems, regional transportation microscopic simulation modeling.
In 2007, Ms. Stewart was promoted to an Associate of the firm.
She became a Principal of the Urban Systems, Inc. in 2012.
Ms. Stewart's responsibilities include project management, design, and management and training of the firm's technical staff.
Ms. Stewart has extensive experience in Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning.
She has worked at all levels on a variety of projects for both public and private clients.
Ms. Stewart's expertise includes traffic control device plan design, traffic signal design, traffic impact analyses, signalized and unsignalized intersection analysis, and traffic signal timing studies.
Several of the above projects included protection control circuitry - emergency vehicles and railroads.
As part of our scope of services for signal system design, the timing and phasing task was inclusive of intersection and corridor optimization utilizing various traffic engineering software such as TEAPAC-Signal 2000, PASSER II, CORSIM, and VISSIM II.
Many of our traffic operational analysis and impact analysis projects included capacity analysis (existing and future) for both signalized and unsignalized intersections.
