Arrow Engineering was founded in 1963 as a contract engineering service specializing in special jigs and fixtures required for holding close tolerances in complex aircraft parts using machinery of the day. Every operation was presented to the spindle. The fixture did the work of today's multiple axis machines. Workholding Fixtures today are no less complicated, in fact with the increased capabilities of modern machinery has come an increased demand for innovative and high quality workholding.

Pressure to do more with less drives us to be better than our competition. Arrow Engineering has been designing custom workholding fixtures since 1963. Most of our customers require fixtures to machine parts but some use our fixtures for deburring or welding. We have designed and built custom workholding fixtures for the automotive, sporting good, healthcare, energy and agriculture industries.

We have designed and built custom workholding fixtures to hold aluminum and magnesium die castings, sand castings, forgings and bar stock.
Services
Nick T. Hawley founded Arrow Engineering as a one-man design service.
While the world has gotten smaller, faster and more competitive, we've grown from one employee working in one room to over 30 employees occupying over 20,000 square feet.
Originally, our one product was design, now we're a one source solution for custom workholding and other precision products.
Advancements in technology have changed the tools we use and the people that use them.
We're more efficient.
In 1963 only large corporations used robotics, CAD and CNC.
Nick T. Hawley founded Arrow Engineering in 1963.
His philosophy was simple: build close, long term relationships with your customers by supplying innovative and cost-effective solutions to machining, tooling, and fixturing problems.
Now owned and operated by sons Tim and Nick, Arrow is a strong, energetic company dedicated to providing quality products and service.
Quality has always been important to us.
Being certified to the ISO 9001:2015 standard shows that we continuously monitor and improve our processes.
Arrow Engineering occupies over 20,000 square feet in two buildings in East Rock Industrial Park in Rockford, IL.
The main building is a clean comfortable air-conditioned 16,800 square foot facility.
We have an additional 4,000 square feet next door that we use for staging and storage.
Our inspection room is temperature controlled and brightly lit.
Our engineers work in an area designed specifically for them.
Recently, we moved assembly to the front of the building, right off the main office immediately adjacent to both inspection and engineering.
Arrow Engineering is certified to ISO 9001:2015 but our commitment to supplying quality products precedes the official designation.
ISO certification documents that commitment in a language understood by the manufacturing world.
We are committed to providing a clean and safe environment for our employees and visitors.
Within that environment there will be a commitment to continuous improvement, learning new and enhancing existing skills.
This will be an environment that ultimately focuses on producing a product that satisfies the customer's requirements and our own commitment to providing the highest level of quality.
