The water plant capacity for the City of Lufkin was only able to meet peak demand with no reserve capability.
The plant could not meet future demands for production or treatment.
The pumping and chlorination was constructed in tandem with a new 2 million gallon ground storage tank.
A recirculation pump was also installed to re-circulate water in the ground storage tank to aid in aeration and removal of H2S.
Inline pumps were installed to lift the well field line flow into the ground storage tank.
