Services
Souhegan Valley Engineering, Inc. had its beginnings in the region of Milford and Amherst, New Hampshire, in 1990.
Although located in the area of the Souhegan River, we provided site design engineering services throughout the New England region.
Our projects ranged from single family house lots to residential subdivisions, shopping malls, and commercial plazas.
We also specialized in conversions and upgrades for gas stations and convenience stores.
We performed work for our own clients as well as subcontracting with area engineering firms.
As you might imagine, development space is becoming tighter.
Potential sites in prime locations that are available often present challenges for development.
Some of those challenges include difficult slopes or are restricted in some way, such that a retaining wall is necessary in order to fully utilize the site.
In the past, many designers and contractors have gone with the standard, cast-in-place, concrete retaining wall.
Earth-reinforced, segmental retaining walls are a proven improvement to the bland, and more costly, concrete retaining walls of the past.
We have staff registered in the six states of New England, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Florida, and have designed segmental retaining walls in all of these states.
Electronic and/or paper copies of our design drawings, stamped by a registered Professional Engineer, are included with the cost of the wall design.
Cost of the design is typically based on the square footage of the wall face.
We do provide global stability analysis on a limited basis.
We highly recommend that global stability analyses, if required, be performed by a qualified geotechnical engineer, preferably the firm that provided the on-site soils investigation.
