In 1978, eight years after graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in civil engineering, Edwin R. Ford, P.E., R.P.L.S. established Ford Engineering Inc.
This civil engineering and surveying firm was originally formed to primarily serve municipalities throughout central Texas.
Mr. Ford has served as the municipal engineer of record for numerous cities including the cities of Schertz, Kirby, Marion, Cibolo, Converse, Hollywood Park, Gonzales, and the town of Santa Clara.
As additional opportunities arose, FEI began providing civil engineering, surveying, land development, drainage, water and wastewater design, and complex design services to private clients throughout Texas.

Live Oak Road Water Plant is the central receiving location of the Schertz Seguin Local Government Corporation (SSLGC) water from the Carrizo Aquifer for the City of Schertz.
From this plant water is distributed to all of Schertz as well as supplied to Universal City and Selma.
The purpose of the project was to increase storage and distribution capacity to meet increasing demand due to development and supply to neighboring municipalities.
Ford Engineering, Inc. was involved in the master plan of the water system from the start, determining the size of storage capacity, as well as modeling the necessary pumping enhancement required to meet the increasing demand.
From this plant water is distributed to all of Schertz as well as supplied to Universal City and Selma.
