X-DOT provides exceptional microwave system planning and path design services for both new and expanding microwave systems by designing cost effective routes and by providing solutions to performance problems on existing microwave paths.
Collecting data from various sources such as the FCC's ASR database, the FAA's database, tower leasing databases, and client company databases.
Using this data to identify coordinate discrepancies and possible locations for microwave sites, if needed.
For new networks, we first identify the desired design objectives, then utilize information already obtained through the research process.
X-DOT has more than three decades of experience surveying microwave paths.
This experience, coupled with thorough knowledge of propagation characteristics of microwave paths, allows our team to provide an accurate and detailed analysis of each surveyed path.
Given the points of communication (sites), the challenge is to determine if there are any obstructions or anomalies along the microwave path.
This determination is made by physically inspecting each site and the terrain between the sites.
Photos, tower drawings, path design, recommended antenna centerlines, and other pertinent data uploaded to secure web-based file storage.
Produce three dimensional mappings of the structure and surrounding area (other structures and foliage) allowing for precise measurements of all appurtenances.
Produce three dimensional mappings of shelter interiors allowing for simple measurements within the shelter to facilitate placement of future equipment and for measuring transmission lines, etc.
Capture precise details of possible obstructions at critical points along the path to produce the most complete, accurate survey achievable with today's technology.
Frequency coordination companies specialize in selecting frequencies for microwave systems.
Per FCC Regulations microwave paths must operate on mutually exclusive, non-interfering frequencies which are assigned by the frequency coordination company.
Once we have designed one, or more, microwave paths for our customers, we submit the path design(s) to the frequency coordination company of the customer's choice.
We consult with that company on a continuing basis concerning any challenges that may arise with assigning frequencies on the system.
