How do you get twelve 410-foot tall wind turbines to a ridgetop in the foothills of the Alaska Range? How do you provide cooling to a complex facility where building space is at a premium and energy is expensive? How do you economically and responsibly design a dormitory and gathering place located on two different seismic site conditions? A RESPEC company, PDC Engineers is a multi-discipline consulting and design firm with over 100 employees spread across five offices.

We specialize in the Facilities, Transportation, Land Development, and Utilities markets. I love the connection to history that comes from following in the footsteps of previous surveyors. I believe that a successful project addresses the real needs of the client, and provides an efficient solution, while considering the impact on the local. I'm most proud of my work when I am able to give any extra effort that moves the solution from the ordinary to extraordinary.
Services
We are a progressive, forward-thinking design firm with more than five decades of success providing multi-disciplinary services to clients throughout Alaska and the Polar Regions.
As a RESPEC company, we are an Alaska-based firm with five offices and over 100 professional and technical staff featuring talented engineers, surveyors, planners, drafters, and environmental analysts.
Our clients come from governmental, industrial, institutional, educational, and commercial sectors.
We are who we are today through the merger of six top Alaska engineering firms with roots dating back to 1953.
We have operated under the name of PDC Engineers since 1998.
PDC has seen steady growth in staffing and professional service areas, including fire protection, environmental, planning, and GIS services.
Construction administration is the key to successful project completion.
This effort includes coordination, communication, schedule adherence, and budget management.
All designs are not created equal!
Our teams' approach to every project starts with listening to the clients' needs and developing a design that exceeds expectations.
Successful projects start with a solid plan.
Planning at any level is a complex undertaking, particularly in Alaska's remote & extreme conditions that require innovative yet practical solutions.
As an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), all PDC employees receive shares of the company that grow in value as the company grows.
This personal stake in the performance of the company ensures that all employees are vested in the success of your project.
ESOP Companies often have ownership cultures that encourage employees to "think and act like owners."
Research shows such companies are more productive, faster growing, more profitable, have less turnover, and generate more business.
For more information on how an ESOP works, check out www.nceo.org.
From the Arctic Coastal Plain to the temperate rainforests of southeast, PDC understands the diverse and challenging environments that designers face.
With five offices across Alaska, we have experience in all of them.
In fact, our Planning, Design, and Construction projects have impacted over 250 communities statewide.
