Services
Civil Engineering covers a lot of territory and it takes years of experience to know which engineering solutions are a best-fit for each project.
KAPPA's Civil Engineers have over 35 years of experience, and it shows in our designs which will make sense for your project.
No matter how large or small the project, we bring value to all of our projects by designing practical and cost-effective solutions.
Some projects require complex engineering.
When needed we can provide the most sophisticated engineering solutions available today because we make use of high-tech Computer Aided Design and Drafting.
The laws are called the "Construction General Permit" or CGP.
It is California's implementation of the Federal Clean Water Act also known as NPDES.
This may be new to you as it can be a bit confusing.
The point of importance to you is that if your project is not completed by 9/2/2012, and you are not currently covered under the CGP - you will be required to be on that date.
It can be a serious matter, so you should not put it off.
Our company has state certified QSD's (certified to prepare SWPPP documents and BMP plans) as well as QSP's (required by the state for inspection of BMPs and preparation of other on-site reports and plans) to assist you in clarifying whether or not your site needs coverage under the CGP.
Surveying is the precise reading and recording of the physical and legal properties of an area of land and the potential altering of said properties.
Surveying requires highly accurate and precisely calibrated instruments, and the training to use these instruments.
Surveying services include setting property corners, staking building setbacks, construction staking, and the topography of the land or to perform a variety of changes to your property.
Property alterations range from a few services, usually with development in mind.
If you've ever taken the time to walk around your property while looking at the ground you may have noticed either a nail set in concrete or a lead pipe with a tack on it, both of these with the letters LS followed by some numbers.
These objects are known as monuments or property corners.
Property corners are used as markers to show the corners which separate the property of focus and adjacent properties or the street right-of-way.
Unfortunately, these corners are not always easy to find as they could be buried, offset from their actual location, illegally moved, or removed/destroyed and when this is this case the best course of action to find them is to hire a surveyor licensed by the state board or professional engineers.
A boundary adjustment is one of the most common land alterations made.
The basic idea behind a boundary adjustment is to move the boundary separating two or more parcels, either changing the angle of the boundary line or moving the line entirely.
When performing the boundary adjustment the new corners that define the new boundary have to be recorded with the county via a new Record of Survey.
KAPPA can assist you with preparing and processing a Boundary Adjustment in all cities within the County of San Diego.
