Services
The KMA Structural Design Team offers full-service design and construction support of single- and multi-span highway bridges, along with the related adjacent structural systems.
The firm's design and construction experts help bridge owners maintain their facilities to extend service life or replace the facility to meet current code and design standards.
KMA has photogrammetrists and support staff (CADD specialists and technicians) to complete base mapping for various purposes, from planning/feasibility to final design.
In addition, KMA has full-service in-house surveying capabilities to support the mapping process.
Photogrammetric mapping is prepared under the direct supervision of a American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) Certified Photogrammetrist.
Our photogrammetrists adhere to the NJDOT Survey Manual and NJDOT Aerial Photogrammetric Mapping Guidelines.
KMA has the capability to perform pipeline video inspections via a remote-controlled video camera system.
This system can be used to view and record digital video, take still shots, and record measurements and other observations within stormwater drains, sanitary sewers, culverts and other inaccessible areas.
Application of this service will provide benefits in the planning, design and construction engineering phases.
For example, video inspection in the planning and design phases will identify fatal flaws in stormwater systems and allow the designer to determine the appropriate solutions, whether it be pipe cleaning, structural repair, or replacement, while inspection in the construction phase will determine if stormwater systems have been fabricated according to construction plans and, if remedies are required, they can be implemented while the contractor is at the job site.
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) has a wide range of applications, ranging from utilities and bridge deck investigations for transportation projects, to identification and location of buried features for environmental and archaeological studies, to geophysical studies.
Effective use of this technology is determined by several factors, including soils and geologic materials, depth, and the nature of the structures and materials being located.
KMA has three mobile GPS units that allows for a wide range of applications.
Countless regulations have been enacted by federal, state and local agencies to protect our air, land and water from pollution and to provide for the health and safety of citizens through a cleaner environment.
KMA environmental scientists cultivate economical and project-specific solutions by conducting a wide range of studies and analyses that adhere to prevailing environmental standards and regulations.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) has become an indispensable tool in our environmental service efforts, from environmental justice screenings, to endangered and threatened species identification, to land use conditions and more.
